Understandably first thing that catches your attention about the Archetype is its unique swallow tail. Unlike any other swallowtail this one follows that of a more traditional board, lifting up from the snow. This has a massive effect on all round performance compared to your average swallowtail board whilst also giving it amazing hard snow performance. The tail shape allows it to sink deep in the powder and lift the nose and keep you surfing effortlessly. The tail is supported by two Carbon fiber beams that give extra stability on landings and stop the tail washing out when charging on hard packed snow. Combine this with their Hover Camber profile and an large width taper that ranges from 2.5-3.0cm (depending on board length) and you get a board for which no snow is too deep or line too steep.
Despite its slightly wider size, the Archetype is just as easy to ride as your everyday board. They've done this by blending Poplar and Paulownia woods in the core creating a lighter than normal wood core but with a better strength to weight ratio and response.
